eHealthObjects Signs First International Client

RICHMOND, VA – September, 9, 2013 – Virginia Biotech Research Park tenant, eHealthObjects, has announced that it has signed its first MOU with an international client, The Richmond Fellowship Society –India.  A first-of-its-kind for the company, in terms of collaborating with an NGO, the focus of their collaboration will be to enhance rehabilitation and management of persons with chronic mental illness.  eHealthObjects is currently working with private and commercial clients in six states.

“We have been excited to see the rapid growth and success of eHealthObjects since they joined the Research Park community in 2010”, said Robert T. Skunda, President and CEO of the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park.  “Their proprietary technology for both inpatient and outpatient electronic medical records is unique and has already set them apart from many companies who have not fully recognized the dramatic changes in the way health care is being delivered the way that eHealthObjects has, giving them a tremendous advantage across a number of providers and platforms.”

The Richmond Fellowship Society – India (RFS) was founded in 1986 in Bangalore, India, as a non-profit organization providing care and psychological rehabilitation services for persons with mental health needs.  Chronic mental illness affects about 10 percent of the population and one-third of them require long-term rehabilitation. The illness being long and rehabilitation being a continuous process, such a system that facilitates case management and data handling will ensure continuity of care.

“We chose eHealthObjects because they specialize in delivering healthcare technology products, solutions and platforms. Our mission is to provide our patients with the highest quality of mental healthcare in the most customized way.  Ease of use of ThinkEHR, their solution, and its superior technical architecture, made it an easy choice for us. eHealthObjects is a health technology leader and I am very excited to bring their world-class solution to our rehabilitation centers,” said Dr. Kalyana Sundaram, CEO of Richmond Fellowship Society – India.

RFS has contracted with eHealthObjects on their ThinkEHR and ThinkHIE products. ThinkEHR v4.0 has been certified by INFOGARD as the complete electronic health record technology for both inpatient and ambulatory settings.  Known for its innovative technical approach, ThinkEHR offers a complete solution for long-term care centers, nursing homes, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. ThinkEHR’s mental and behavioral healthcare coordination, case management software, technology and platform will be used for the implementation at RFS to effectively manage screening, admission and in creating individualized treatment plans for patients with mental healthcare needs. ThinkHIE (Health Information Exchange) is built on eHeathObjects Health Technology Platform using National Health Information Network (NHIN) standards and provides the capability to electronically exchange patients’ health information among disparate health care information systems while maintaining the meaning of the information being exchanged. This facilitates access to and retrieval of clinical data to provide safer, timely, efficient, effective, equitable, patient-centered are.

ThinkEHR has been implemented at Asha Halfway Home run by RFS, offering short-term residential mental health services to persons with chronic mental illness. After ThinkEHR is rolled out at Asha, it will be implemented in the other centers of RFS. They plan to go live at the center in Asha by this November or December, while the other centers will be operational by the first quarter of next year.

“We are delighted to provide ThinkEHR software, infrastructure and platform to RFS (India), Bangalore branch,” said Sanjay Mittal, CEO for eHealthObjects, Inc. USA. “eHealthObjects has started ThinkEHR implementation at Asha, which is a half-way home offering short term residential mental health services to persons with chronic mental illness. After ThinkEHR is rolled out at Asha, it will be implemented in Jyothi, the long term care center and in Chetana, the day care centre which provides vocational training for those with chronic mental illness and mild mental retardation. To quickly start the implementation off the ground, we have partnered with Kairav Health India Private Ltd, a Bangalore based health IT Company. This partnership helps eHealthObjects to quickly scale up the local resources as needed”.
